The new schedule is in effect starting January 8, 2007. Pick up a copy of the
new schedule in the lobby. Added to the schedule is a new men’s boxing
class. If you are planning to attend ,make sure you bring your boxing shoes,
wrestling shoes, or running shoes to the boxing class.
Event Results
Saturday December 2, 2006- Rob Peppers won the IKAS Muay Thai New
York State championship in the welterweight division. Derrick Strong won a
unanimous decision in his Muay Thai fight. Ed Unkel fought a three round war
that went to his opponent by spilt decision.
Sunday December 10, 2006- The Long Island Kempo Alliance held their 1st
annual tournament. Campbell’ s members did outstanding with many students
winning trophies! Three students who stood out were purple belt Kayla
Quenzer who won 1st place for self defense with one of the best techniques in
the tournament! David Yagy who won 1st place in sparring. With only
practicing point-sparring less than 5 times. David will be making his
kickboxing debut in the near future. And Alex Petrillo who did fantastic
participating in all 4 events, taking home 3 trophies! Alex will also be making
his kickboxing debut in the near future.
Friday December 15, 2006- Bobby Campbell fought to a draw with the
undefeated Ryan Belasco. In the 1st round Ryan landed some hard right
hands and landed more combos but the 2nd round showed Bobby landing his
jab and some straight left hands. The 3rd and 4th rounds had Bobby picking
up the pace and landing more combos. The judges scored it 39-37 Campbell,
39-37 Belasco, and 38-38 even causing the bout to result in a draw.
Orange and Purple belt students:
All purple belt students must get sparring gear. When you become an orange
belt you are recommended to start getting your sparring gear. Yellow or white
belts can get their sparring gear as well. The sooner the better. Make sure you
always bring your gear to every class.
Upcoming events:
January 27, 2007 at Rahway NJ. MMA fights in the cage. Campbell’s fight
team has three fighters fighting. Ed Unkel, Keith Peterson, and Derrick
Strong. Tickets are $25 and $45.
